Overview
Matty is a qualified UK patent attorney working within the Chemistry and Life Sciences, Energy, and Medical sectors. He has experience working with a variety of clients, ranging from individuals and SMEs to multinational corporations and universities.
Before joining Barker Brettell, Matty spent four enjoyable years studying Chemistry at Brasenose College, University of Oxford. During his degree, Matty undertook a master’s project exploring the catalytic decomposition of ammonia using mixed sodium-alkaline earth metal amides.

- Experience in preparing patentability, freedom-to-operate, and infringement opinions
- Assisted during opposition and appeal proceedings before the EPO
